Storybook Ballet School

Experience the magical and enchanting world of ballet!

Our shortened Fall ballet session is back! An ideal program for fledgling dancers to experience the world of ballet without a full year commitment. Especially good for the busy youngsters that like to try everything. For 3 & 4 year olds or 5 & 6 year olds not ready for a full season schedule.

Each session is a simple flat rate, with no additional fees. Our longer Fall and Spring sessions include a final performance and a recital tutu to keep! Our sessions allow your dancer to explore ballet in smaller bites, planting the seed for a lifelong love of ballet! Once dancers have experienced Storybook Ballet, advancement into the 9 month training program is recommended at age 5.

*To enroll, dancers must already be 3 and potty trained.

Class Levels

Intro to Storybook Ballet - age 3, 30 min weekly class - Everything is new to these dancers from first position to going across the floor one at a time. Pre-ballet and creative movement taught in a fun and nurturing atmosphere, the class focuses on gross motor movements, basic sequences, and lays the groundwork for learning ballet. Also, good for the older 3 year olds needing to experience confidence boosting leadership role. If you have a shy child, consider a quieter morning time slot away from the hustle and bustle of the busy after school studio!

Storybook Ballet - age 4 (or younger 5 year olds not ready for the full season commitment)

45 minute weekly class - Building on the foundations learned in the Intro class, the discovery of ballet continues while developing skills in coordination, concentration and following instruction. The longer attention spans and better muscle control allows a more focused class with detailed instruction.

Intro to Ballet - 45 minute weekly class  - 5 & 6 year old dancers with no ballet experience can start with a fun session to determine if ballet is a good fit! Offered intermittently.

Helpful tips for choosing a class time

If you have a shy kiddo, you may be more comfortable in a morning time slot where the studio is quiet and it is not full of the after school buzz.

If you are jumping into kindergarten and adjusting to that big change, a 12 week session may be appropriate for your family, even for a 5 year old, especially if your child needs a lot of down time.

Friends and siblings in the same class may be super convenient, but may not always be the best thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it really doesn't!

The age guidelines are awesome and create a great learning atmosphere. Although not always set in stone, we recommend 3 year olds be with 3 year olds and 4 year olds be with 4 year olds. Even if your dancer has completed an Intro session, at age 3, another Intro session can give her a boost to enjoy a spot in the leadership role, showing her peers how it is done!
